  • Rats usually live in ground burrows. They like to make nests by house foundations and will sometimes settle in the lower levels of homes.

  • They live in colonies so if you see one there is likely more.

  • They can enter a hole as small as 3/8" wide

  • Rats carry several diseases that are able to be contracted to humans including rabies, salmonella, leptospirosis and even plague.

  • They also harbor parasites like mites, fleas and ticks
