Rats usually live in ground burrows. They like to make nests by house foundations and will sometimes settle in the lower levels of homes.

They live in colonies so if you see one there is likely more.

They can enter a hole as small as 3/8" wide

Rats carry several diseases that are able to be contracted to humans including rabies, salmonella, leptospirosis and even plague.

They also harbor parasites like mites, fleas and ticks
