SKUNKS
-
Skunks are most identifiable by their smell. You will know you have a skunk problem if you smell that strong onion-y smell on a regular basis.
-
Skunks are den builders so if they show up on your property and decide to stay, they will often build dens beside stacks of wood, beside house foundations or under decks or patios.
-
Skunk can carry diseases like rabies, leptospirosis, listeriosis, canine distemper, canine hepatitis, Q-fever, and tularemia.
-
They also harbor parasites like fleas, mites, lice, ticks, mange, roundworm and tapeworm.
-
Skunks are nocturnal so activity will increase after the sun goes down.
-
Skunks do not hibernate, but their activity slows in the winter.
